The Client Brief

We love collaborating with interior designers on kitchen projects and with this project we teamed up with our friends at Tempo Interiors to create the perfect kitchen design solution for our client. 

Sandy's current kitchen space was boarded by three walls and she wanted to create a more open concept that would connect the kitchen with the adjacent living areas. Sandy wanted a classic, elegant kitchen design that referenced the Hampton's look and feel 'without the white'.

The Challenge

Our client's existing kitchen was located in the centre of the apartment enclosed within three walls. With little natural light, the kitchen felt small, dark and cramped. Relocating the kitchen was not an option, and it was not feasible to remove walls. The challenge was to create a kitchen design solution that would utilise the existing apartment floor plan, as well as ensure the new kitchen had optimal storage, functionality and delivered the look Sandy was after. 

The Design Solution

Removing walls was not an option, so instead we created servery openings for a more integrated kitchen design. This opened up the existing kitchen space, allowed more natural light to flow through and helped make the kitchen room feel larger. An added bonus of creating the wall opening, was the view of Sydney harbour, now in full view from the kitchen. A beautiful selection of kitchen finishes hand-picked by our friends at Tempo Interiors ensured the finished kitchen look and feel was in keeping with our client's initial design brief. 

The Result

A elegant kitchen, designed with modern functionality and a classic feel. With adjacent living and dining areas now seamlessly surrounding her newly renovated kitchen, Sandy can now comfortably prepare meals and not feel isolated from the rest of her home.  The custom serveries allow meals to be served from either side of the kitchen to the dining and/or living rooms, allowing our client to better interact with family and friends in adjacent rooms. With greater natural light flowing through the apartment, a more efficient kitchen layout, curated style tailored specifically for her by our friends at Tempo Interiors, Sandy now has the kitchen she has always dreamed of.
